BarReady
Terms of Service
Last updated: 31/08/2026
Effective from: 31/08/2026
Important notice
BarReady is an independent educational revision platform providing practice multiple-choice questions and related study materials for students undertaking or preparing for Bar training in England and Wales.
BarReady is not affiliated with, endorsed by, approved by, or operated by the Bar Standards Board ("BSB"), any Bar training provider, university, examination provider, or other professional or educational body, unless we expressly state otherwise.
Our questions are independent practice materials. They are not official assessment questions and should not be treated as reproducing, predicting, or guaranteeing the content of any assessment.
The Service does not provide or constitute legal advice.
If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits those rights.

1.2 These Terms
These Terms govern your access to and use of our website, question bank, study materials and related services.
Before creating an Account or purchasing paid access, you should read these Terms carefully.
By creating an Account, purchasing access to the Service, or otherwise agreeing to these Terms when prompted, you agree to be bound by them.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not purchase or use the Service.
1.3 Other policies
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal information.
Where we use cookies or similar technologies, information about them will be provided through our Cookie Policy or cookie-management tools.
1.4 Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms where reasonably necessary, including because of changes to:
- applicable laws or regulations;
- the requirements or structure of Bar training or assessments;
- our Service or technology;
- security requirements; or
- the way we operate our business.
Where a change materially affects your rights or an existing paid Subscription, we will provide reasonable notice where required.
Changes to prices or other commercial terms will ordinarily apply from your next purchase or renewal rather than retrospectively.
2. Definitions
In these Terms:
"Account" means a registered user account for the Service.
"Content" means questions, answer options, explanations, revision notes, text, graphics, statistics, progress information and other educational materials made available through the Service.
"Practice Question" means an independently created question intended for revision and educational purposes.
"Service" means the BarReady website, question bank, applications and related services that we make available.
"Subscription" means any recurring paid plan giving access to some or all of the Service.
"Paid Access" includes a Subscription and any fixed-duration or one-off paid access plan.
"User Content" means notes, comments or other material that a user creates or submits through the Service.
3. Eligibility and permitted use
3.1 Intended users
The Service is intended primarily for students, prospective students and other individuals studying law or preparing for Bar training or related assessments.
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase Paid Access or create a paid Subscription with BarReady.
If you are under 18, you may only use the Service with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who must be responsible for any purchase made on your behalf.
3.2 Personal study use
Unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing, the Service is licensed to you solely for your own personal, non-commercial study.
You may not use the Service or Content for teaching, tutoring, commercial training or any other commercial purpose without our written permission.
3.3 No competing products
You must not use the Service or Content to create, train, develop, populate, benchmark or support another question bank, revision platform, educational product, AI system or competing service.
4. Accounts and security
4.1 Account information
You must provide accurate information when creating an Account and keep your information reasonably up to date.
4.2 Account security
You are responsible for taking reasonable steps to protect your login details.
You must notify us promptly at support@barready.uk if you believe that your Account has been accessed without permission.
4.3 Individual accounts
Unless we expressly permit otherwise, each Account is licensed for use by one individual only.
You must not:
- share your login credentials with another person;
- allow another person to routinely access the Service through your Account;
- sell, transfer, rent or sublicense your Account; or
- purchase one Account for use by a group of students.
We may use reasonable technical measures to identify suspected account sharing or misuse.
5. Acceptable use
You must not, and must not attempt to:
- copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, sell or commercially exploit our Content except where permitted by law or these Terms;
- photograph, screenshot, record or systematically reproduce substantial quantities of questions or explanations for distribution to others;
- scrape, crawl, harvest or extract Content using automated tools;
- use bots, scripts or automated systems to access the Service;
- bypass or interfere with paywalls, rate limits, authentication systems, security controls or other technical restrictions;
- reverse engineer the Service except where applicable law expressly permits this;
- upload malware or other harmful code;
- interfere with the normal operation of the Service;
- use another person's Account without permission;
- use the Service fraudulently or unlawfully;
- infringe our intellectual property rights or those of another person;
- use our Content to train, fine-tune, evaluate or populate an artificial intelligence or machine-learning model without our written permission; or
- assist another person in doing any of the above.
We may investigate suspected misuse and may restrict access where we reasonably believe these Terms have been materially breached.
6. Intellectual property
6.1 Ownership
All intellectual property rights in the Service and our original Content are owned by or licensed to BARREADY LTD.
This includes, where applicable:
- Practice Questions;
- answer choices;
- explanations;
- revision materials;
- graphics;
- databases;
- software;
- branding;
- website design; and
- the selection, structure and arrangement of our Content.
References to legislation, cases, procedural rules, regulatory materials or other third-party sources do not mean that we own those underlying materials.
6.2 Your licence
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to access and use the Content for your own non-commercial study for as long as you are entitled to access the relevant Content.
No ownership rights are transferred to you.
6.3 Limited personal notes
You may make reasonable personal study notes based on the Service.
This does not permit you to reproduce substantial parts of the question bank, distribute our questions or explanations, or create a substitute for the Service.
6.4 Feedback
If you voluntarily send us suggestions, corrections or feedback about the Service, you permit us to use that feedback to operate and improve the Service without payment to you.
7. Purchases, subscriptions and billing
7.1 Pricing
The price, access period and main features of your chosen plan will be displayed before you purchase it.
Any recurring payment arrangement will be clearly identified before you place your order.
7.2 Fixed-term access
Where you purchase access for a fixed period without automatic renewal, your access will ordinarily end automatically at the end of that period unless you purchase further access.
7.3 Subscriptions
Where we offer automatically renewing Subscriptions, the checkout process will explain:
- the initial price;
- billing frequency;
- duration of any introductory or discounted period;
- the amount payable on renewal;
- whether the Subscription renews automatically; and
- how you can cancel.
Your Subscription will continue and payments may recur until it is cancelled in accordance with the terms presented to you at purchase and applicable law.
7.4 Cancelling recurring access
You may cancel an automatically renewing Subscription using the cancellation method provided through your Account or by contacting us at support@barready.uk.
Cancellation will ordinarily prevent the next renewal.
Unless applicable law requires otherwise, cancelling a Subscription does not automatically end access during a billing period that you have already paid for.
7.5 Price changes
We may change our prices.
Any price change affecting an existing automatically renewing Subscription will be communicated in advance where required and will normally apply from a subsequent renewal.
If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you may cancel before that renewal.
8. Refund policy
8.1 Refunds
Except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise, payments are non-refundable once access to the relevant paid digital Content has begun.
Paid digital Content is made available immediately after a successful purchase. Your statutory cancellation rights continue to apply in accordance with applicable consumer law.
This does not affect any other statutory rights you may have, including rights where digital Content or services are faulty, not as described, or otherwise do not conform to the contract.
Cancelling an automatically renewing Subscription will ordinarily prevent the next renewal but will not normally result in a refund for a current paid billing period where your statutory cancellation right has been validly waived or has otherwise ended. You will normally retain access until the end of that billing period.
8.2 Discretionary refunds, credits and extensions
We recognise that exceptional circumstances can arise. We may, at our discretion, provide a full or partial refund, account credit or extension of access in circumstances such as:
- an accidental duplicate purchase;
- a material technical problem that prevents you from accessing the Service and that we are unable to resolve within a reasonable period;
- an incorrect charge caused by us; or
- other exceptional circumstances that we consider appropriate.
Requests for discretionary refunds should be sent to support@barready.uk as soon as reasonably possible after the relevant purchase or issue.
Any discretionary refund, credit or extension is provided as a goodwill measure and does not affect your statutory rights or require us to provide the same remedy in other circumstances.
Your statutory cancellation rights, including the rules that may apply where you request immediate access to digital Content, are explained in Section 9.
9. Consumer cancellation rights and refunds
9.1 Statutory rights
Nothing in these Terms affects any cancellation, refund or other rights that you have under applicable consumer law.
9.2 Online purchases
UK consumer law generally gives consumers a right to cancel certain contracts entered into online within 14 days without giving a reason.
Different rules may apply to digital Content supplied other than on a tangible medium. Your rights depend on the circumstances of the purchase and the requirements of applicable consumer law.
9.3 Immediate access to digital Content
BarReady provides paid digital Content through immediate online access.
Before purchasing Paid Access, you will be asked to agree to these Terms of Use.
Nothing in these Terms removes or limits a statutory cancellation right unless the legal requirements for doing so have been satisfied.
9.4 Faulty or misdescribed digital Content
Losing the statutory 14-day cancellation right for change-of-mind cancellations does not affect your other statutory rights.
If digital Content supplied by us is faulty, not as described, does not conform to the contract, or is otherwise subject to a statutory remedy, you retain the remedies available to you under applicable consumer law.
9.5 Additional refunds
Any voluntary refund policy that we offer in addition to your statutory rights will be stated separately.
Nothing in a voluntary refund policy restricts your statutory rights.
10. Educational purpose and legal-information disclaimer
10.1 Educational resource only
The Service is provided solely as an educational and revision resource.
It does not constitute legal advice, professional advice or legal representation.
10.2 Independent practice questions
Our Practice Questions are independently created educational materials.
Unless we expressly state otherwise, they are not:
- official BSB questions;
- past examination questions;
- questions supplied or approved by a Bar training provider;
- confidential or leaked assessment materials; or
- representations of questions that will appear in a future assessment.
10.3 No guarantee of assessment content
Assessment formats, syllabuses, learning outcomes, weighting and content may change.
Although we may design Content with reference to publicly available curricula, regulations, syllabuses or learning outcomes, we cannot guarantee that:
- every assessable topic is covered;
- topics will appear in the proportions shown in our question bank;
- our questions reflect the precise style or difficulty of an actual assessment; or
- any particular issue will or will not appear in an assessment.
10.4 No guarantee of outcome
Performance on the Service is not a prediction or guarantee of your performance in any actual assessment.
We do not guarantee that use of the Service will result in:
- passing an assessment;
- achieving any particular mark or classification;
- completing a Bar training course;
- being called to the Bar;
- obtaining pupillage;
- obtaining tenancy or employment; or
- achieving any other academic or professional outcome.
10.5 Your responsibility
The Service should form only part of your preparation.
You remain responsible for understanding the requirements applicable to your own course and assessments and for consulting relevant official and authoritative materials.
11. Accuracy, currency and changes in the law
11.1 Reasonable care
We take reasonable steps to make our educational Content accurate and useful.
However, legal materials can change and errors may occasionally occur.
11.2 Changing law and procedure
Legislation, case law, procedural rules, professional regulations, regulatory guidance, assessment specifications and course requirements may change.
Content that was accurate when written may later become outdated.
11.3 Content dates
Where appropriate, we may state that Content has been reviewed or updated as at a particular date.
Such a date indicates the date of our review and does not amount to a guarantee that no relevant development has occurred since then.
11.4 Authoritative sources
Where accuracy is important, you should consult current authoritative sources, which may include legislation, procedural rules, judgments, official BSB publications and materials issued by your Bar training provider.
11.5 Reporting errors
If you believe a Practice Question or explanation contains an error, you can contact us at support@barready.uk.
We may review reported issues and correct Content where appropriate.
12. Independence from the BSB and training providers
12.1 No affiliation or endorsement
Unless expressly stated otherwise, BarReady is independent of the Bar Standards Board, Bar training providers, universities and examination or assessment providers.
Use of names such as "Bar course", "Bar training", "Bar Standards Board" or the names of particular subjects or assessments is for descriptive and informational purposes only.
12.2 Third-party trade marks
Third-party names, logos and trade marks belong to their respective owners.
Their appearance or reference on the Service does not imply sponsorship, approval or endorsement of BarReady.
12.3 Assessment integrity
We do not knowingly solicit, distribute or provide confidential assessment materials.
13. Service availability and changes
13.1 Availability
We aim to provide a reliable Service, but we do not guarantee that it will be available without interruption at all times.
Access may occasionally be interrupted because of:
- maintenance;
- software updates;
- security incidents;
- technical failures;
- third-party infrastructure failures; or
- circumstances outside our reasonable control.
13.2 Changes to Content
We may add, update, correct or remove questions, explanations and other Content.
A user's question counts, completion percentages, statistics or other metrics may consequently change.
13.3 Material changes to paid functionality
If we materially reduce the principal functionality of a paid product during an existing paid access period, we will provide any remedy required by law.
Where appropriate, we may also offer an extension, partial refund or other remedy.
14. Suspension and termination
14.1 Ending your use
You may stop using the Service at any time.
Where available, you may also delete your Account.
Deleting your Account does not necessarily cancel an active Subscription, so you should separately cancel any recurring payment arrangement.
14.2 Suspension by us
We may temporarily restrict or suspend your Account where we reasonably believe that:
- you have materially breached these Terms;
- your Account is being shared or commercially exploited;
- automated scraping or extraction is taking place;
- your Account creates a security risk;
- your use may infringe intellectual property rights;
- suspension is required by law; or
- suspension is reasonably necessary to protect other users or the Service.
14.3 Termination
We may terminate your Account for a serious or repeated breach of these Terms.
Where reasonable in the circumstances, we will provide notice and an opportunity to remedy a breach before termination.
14.4 Paid access
If we terminate paid access for reasons unrelated to your breach, we will provide any refund or other remedy required by law and, where appropriate, a proportionate refund for unused prepaid access.
14.5 Effect of termination
When your entitlement to use the Service ends, the licence granted under these Terms also ends.
Provisions which by their nature are intended to continue after termination, including provisions relating to intellectual property, liability and governing law, will continue to apply.
15. Our liability
15.1 Loss caused by us
If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage that you suffer where it is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
Loss or damage is foreseeable where it is obvious that it will happen or where, at the time the contract was formed, both you and we knew that it might happen.
15.2 Educational outcomes
Subject to Section 15.4, we are not responsible merely because:
- you do not pass an assessment;
- your assessment result differs from your performance within the Service;
- an assessment contains subjects or questions not covered by the Service; or
- a course provider, regulator or assessment body changes its requirements.
This Section does not exclude liability where a loss is caused by our breach of a legal duty that cannot lawfully be excluded.
16. Third-party websites and services
The Service may contain links to third-party websites, legislation databases, regulatory materials or other external services.
Unless we expressly state otherwise, those services are operated independently of us.
We are not responsible for the availability or operation of independent third-party services.
Nothing in this Section limits our responsibility for services that our own contractors provide on our behalf where applicable law makes us responsible for their acts or omissions.
17. Privacy
Our processing of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy.
18. Complaints and support
If you have a question, correction request or complaint, contact:
Email: support@barready.uk
We will aim to consider complaints and respond within a reasonable period.
Nothing in this Section prevents you from exercising any rights or remedies available under applicable law.
19. Governing law and courts
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also have rights under the mandatory laws applicable where you live and may be entitled to bring proceedings in the courts of that part of the United Kingdom.
Nothing in these Terms removes any mandatory consumer protection that applies to you.
20. Cookies
BarReady uses essential cookies and similar technologies to provide secure login, account access, payment processing, and core site functionality.
We use cookies to:
- keep you signed in
- protect user accounts and admin areas
- remember session state while you use the question bank
- support Stripe checkout and billing management
We do not currently use advertising cookies or tracking cookies.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, but some parts of BarReady may not work properly if you do.
